What a fabulous afternoon, on the grounds of the beautiful Wilton House Museum in Richmond, Virginia.
The Art Deco Society of Virginia hosted their third Annual Gatsby Afternoon Picnic spread out under the trees on the front lawn, with picnickers dressed to the nines in beautiful vintage wear (even small children joined in the fun of dressing up!). Games of badminton and croquet could be had at the back, with the James River in the background.
Emcee Ego Von Hubris kept the show going, and entertainment came in the form of performances by the Glenn Crytzer Quartette, bellydancer Reverend Valentine, classical vocalists Gorman & Tuckwiller, as well as an energetic Charleston contest and an elegant fashion show and contest. Vendors were invited to hawk their wares, and I had the pleasure of photographing the Paper Moon Photo Booth. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the best picnic display, the Charleston contest and the fashion show!
Grateful thanks to Olivia Lloyd, President of the ADSVA, and Board Members Andy Nishida and Rita Shiang. It was a truly wonderful event, and I can't wait for next year's. For more information, please see
