This is the second annual Gotham Jazz Festival. With the partnership of Prohibition Productions and the New York Hot Jazz Camp, the exquisite Players Club was the perfect venue for the grand finale of the jazz camp, where students and faculty showcased their talent. This album focuses on the NYHJC student performances which took place in the first half of the festival - photos from the performances from the second half of the festival are displayed here:
Various NYHJC ensembles performed on the main ballroom's stage, after which the vocalists performed again with the accompaniment of John Dimartino in the Kinstler Room lounge. The faculty All-Stars blew us away, featuring Jazz Camp co-directors Bria Skonberg and Molly Ryan, together with Catherine Russell, Evan Christopher, Randy Reinhart, Dalton Ridenhour, Justin Poindexter, Jim Fryer, Nicki Parrott, and Rob Garcia.
