New York held its first Hot Jazz Festival on August 25, 2013 at the Mehanata Bulgarian Bar. The brainchild of Michael (Misha) Katsobashvili, and co-Produced by Patrick Soluri and Bria Skonberg, it was an afternoon and evening of some of the hottest NY jazz bands playing music from the Jazz Age. Mona's Hot Four, Peter & Will Anderson Quintet, The Grand Street Stompers, Avalon Jazz Band, Brian Carpenter's Ghost Train Orchestra, Manhattan Society Orchestra, Bria Skonberg's Hotter Than Sextet, and the Hot Sardines took to the stage and thoroughly entertained a very enthusiastic audience. A phenomenal jazz jam took place afterwards - what a fabulous production!
