Each year in December, the MTA New York City brings out vintage subways from the 1930s, to run on weekends on the F-line track from 2nd Avenue to Queens and back, making all stops. On one day during this time, a group of volunteers coordinates with bands and musicians, swing dancers and vintage enthusiasts, resulting in a day of bands playing at each end of the 2nd Avenue station, and on the trains, with vintage clad revelers and their fans wholeheartedly enjoying the experience. It's a family-friendly day of fun, great live trad jazz, and a perfect start to the holiday season!
