Each year in December, the MTA brings vintage subway trains out of their storage space, and runs them on the weekends on the F line from Second Avenue to Queens and back. On one day, Michael Ingbar and his helpers coordinate bands, dancers and vintage lovers to gather at Second Avenue, dance on the subways, and join the bands on the trains as they travel back and forth.
After the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, we weren't sure that this special annual event would happen this year, but the MTA made it happen.
Revelers gathered, many dressed to the nines in vintage wear, and an afternoon of joy was shared by one and all.
